This is my animation montage. So I guess this is what the past four years have been about. At the moment it's edited to Tom Waits' Underground. It does nicely for now, but eventually I'd like to edit one to my own music. I always feel like a cheap-skate using other people's music. And I still have to put some footage from my DP into it.
So progress is happening, nothing terribly special though. Unfortunately my pace was broken when I became ill with this blasted cold last weekend. Still though, I'm chugging along on the degree project. I have the set completed puppets fully completed and have a few scenes shot. They are looking pretty decent. I'll post them on here as soon as I remember next, or remember how. Outside of school, my band is making much progress. We are on the verge of completing our second song, The Historian. It has a nice loud rhythm to it, nice and angry.
Thought I'd finally throw some progress up here from my degree project. It's not much and it isn't even the latest, but it's something. Although these outdated pictures do not reflect this, I have both of my puppets nearly completely and all the basics of the set installed. There is just a bit more painting and distressing to do and a few . . . well a lot more books to make. I expect to be done and ready to shoot by next week sometime.
Well for some bloody reason I can't figure out how to post a fucking picture up . . although I've done it before with ease . . . it's 2:17 AM so you'll just have to wait.
Yeah I just discovered that the video doesn't want to play on its own past 8 seconds, but if you click just beyond that it'll continue to play the rest.
So after a long and arduous process, I have the first 3rd or so of the Toy Soldier's enlistment propaganda. I like the way it coming out so far, but I still may re-shoot some footage . . . you can see my watch in a reflection in the dip of the roller coaster. Here it is for you to see. Keep in mind though it's not edited and this is a REALLY crappy intarweb MPEG-4. Enjoy!
Howdy hey folks. Obviously been quite some time since my last post, but then again nothing has really happened until now . . . well regarding work and the like. Plenty has happened and if you wish for me to elaborate, which I promise will be like pulling teeth, then just give me a friendly hello. So I am here now to post my next project for class which is the Toy Soldier's enlistment ad. I have plans to show this to the man himself Dr. Steel and maybe he'll be happy to use it on his site. Here's the first animatic I devised and I think its pretty tight so far and hopefully with a few minor adjustments you will too. I'll have things up soon from my degree project too.
So I've been working on many things, but the project that holds the most promise is my found sound assignment. Our goal - to illuminate audio from a particular artist with animation . . . obviously. I've chosen to adorn a conversation of Hermann Nitsch's with a curious interviewer. As of present time I have little animation to show, but here are the story boards and s study for style. And sorry for the amount . =P
